The End...?

...is not nigh, but new!

Newly opened, that is. The End, located on Castle Street, Hay-on-Wye, opened it's creaking door this week in time for the hoards flocking to Hay Literature Festival later this month.

The End is part-stage set, part shop. Dusty, wood floors echo as you walk through each room or creak up the stairs. Filled with an eclectic mix of french linens, reclaimed furniture and taxidermy, displayed amidst peeling walls, weathered woods and triffid-like plants. Pretty, no. Fascinating & visually stunning, yes.
The End has the option to expland into the building next door, so who knows what treats are still to be unveiled. There is no website as yet so for those of you who are interested in seeing more you'll have to visit in person! What better excuse than combining your trip with a visit to the Literary Festival (29th May - 6th June 2010)?
(I can confirm that the tiara-wearing swan is not for sale!)
