'Contemporary Eye; Crossovers' at Pallant House Gallery

Contemporary Eye: Crossovers - Taxidermy from Pallant House Gallery on Vimeo.

A wee snippet of the exciting work currently on show across the 18th Century delight which is The Pallant House Gallery, Chichester. With it's basis in exploring craft techniques, the show includes work by Barnaby Barford, Edmund de Waal and Grayson Perry. The current interest in taxidermy as a medium for artists to explore contemporary issues is shown at it's best here with some superb work by female artists, Kelly McCallum, Polly Morgan & Nina Saunders. Can't wait to see this!

I like the 'Secret Garden' piece by Debbie Lawson. I know some people find taxidermy rather grim, but I'm fascinated by it. My Dad's still hanging onto his stuffed kingfisher though, no matter how hard I try to convince him that it'll look great in my front room!
