Hidden Book Treasure No 10: 'Why have you not written before this?"

This postcard slid from between the pages of a small copy of, 'Plain Tales from the Hills' by Rudyard Kipling. It shows a view of a group of late Victorians/ early Edwardians occupied on a beach at Saint Malo. Unfortunately the postmark is difficult to read, and therefore to date, however, it is clear that someone is not happy with regularity of Mrs Cavill's correspondence.

Hmmmm, the mind boggles....

I wonder if the house its addressed to is still standing. That always fascinates me about postcards.

The street is still there (with lots of interesting buildings perched on a hill, several in candy shades of pink, cream & blue)but no sign of Stafford House sadly.
Would love to know the context of this postcard!
