Hidden Book Treasure No 14: Portway House 1958

Fitting that this photo' should fall out of a dust-jacketed, 1963 edition of The Observer's Book of Horses and Ponies' by R.S Summerhays. Presumably the author was picked for his talent as a writer and not just for his name...

Guessing by the name of the house and the thatched roof that this could have been taken in Dorset?

I've just been catching up on all your "Hidden Book Treasures" and think that if you find more a touching little book of them could be published. I think someone did this with discarded shopping lists they found in the street.
Ephemera tells such poignant stories.
