On seeing this photobooth strip one was immediately put in mind of a short story by
F Scott Fitzgerald called, 'Bernice Bobs her Hair'. The story, published in the Saturday Evening Post in 1920, follows the tale of Bernice, who goes from the girl who nobody wants to dance with to popular society Miss by threatening to bob her hair. There is a fabulous revenge scene in it involving scissors and a pair of prized plaits!
These photo's were most likely taken in the decade following the publication of the story. Sadly, there are no clues on the reverse to enlighten us.
